According to the latest survey conducted by Rassmussen Reports, 50 percent of United States voters approve of the US Supreme Court's decision overturning abortion landmark ruling Roe v. Wade.
Out of the 50 percent of US voters that approve of the ruling, 38 percent said they "strongly approve," according to the survey. 45 percent said they disapprove, while 38 percent said they "strongly disapprove" of the United States Supreme Court giving abortion rights to the states.
As for Republican voters, 75 percent approve of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, while 20 percent disapprove. Among Democrats, seventy-one percent disapprove of the Supreme Court abortion ruling, but 25 percent approve, according to Rassmussen.
Voters unaffiliated with both major political parties are more evenly split, with 53 percent approving the High Court's decision returning abortion to states, while 42 percent disapprove, survey shows.
The survey showed that on the issue of abortion, fifty-two percent of voters consider themselves pro-choice, while 41 percent of voters say they are pro-life. Out of the pro-choice voters, disapprove of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, while 88 percent of pro-life voters approve the reversal.
According to Rassmussen Reports, the survey was conducted between June 26 to June 27, with the participation of 1,000 US likely voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points, and was performed by Pulse Opinion Research.
Other results from the survey show that fifty-three percent of whites, 41 percent of blacks, and 49 percent of other minority voters approve of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade. The largest demographic that considers themselves pro-choice are black voters, which is 60 percent.
Between men and women, more women voters consider themselves pro-choice than men, with 55 percent of women supporting abortion rights compared to 49 percent of men, the report shows.
The Supreme Court on Friday released a ruling in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, and overturned Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion at the federal level, and gave abortion rights back to the states.
