"Nobody has a problem with him because, you know, like, we take in consideration of his, disability. So we don't ever be mean to him."
The incident happened in the hallway of the Atlanta high school on Friday and video circulated online showing a black student approaching a white student in the hallway, taking scissors out of his bag, and stabbing him multiple times in the face. The perpetrator could be heard calling the other a "white b*tch."
A student speaking to reporters at Fox 5 described the attack, and also said that the alleged victim has special needs. Student Kamya Lowe told the outlet, "It started off as a fight, and then he grabbed his scissors."
Lowe added that the victim did not fight back and described a chaotic scene of events. "He grabbed his scissors and started stabbing away. ... And [the victim] didn't try to fight back because he's not an aggressive person at all. So when he was on the floor, he was just on the like. He didn't try to fight back at all, like he was just sitting there and everybody was in there recording him," Lowe added, also saying that the victim is a special needs student known at the school.
"I made TikToks with him. I talked to him like he's, he's a pretty cool person. Nobody has a problem with him because, you know, like, we take in consideration of his, disability. So we don't ever be mean to him. He's sweet," Lowe added.
One parent told the outlet that her child was also stabbed last year at the school, "It's scary. It's very scary. I mean my kids come here. My son was going here last year. He graduated last year... And he was stabbed as well here at the school with during an altercation with another young man."
"You send your kids to school thinking that they're gonna be okay and something like this happens," the parent added.
Video of the scene showed the alleged victim and perpetrator in an altercation, and then the one student reached in his bag and pulled out a pair of scissors. After throwing the alleged victim to the ground, the attacker then started stabbing the student multiple times in the face. Heavy amounts of blood were pouring out of the victim's face.
