Canadian-born hockey great Wayne Gretzky was out on Election Night in support of President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Gretzy attended a gala election event with Trump and X maestro Elon Musk at the president-elect's Mar-a-Lago home in West Palm Beach, FL. Paulina Gretzky, Wayne's daughter, put a group photo of the event on her Instagram account, The Hockey News reported.

The photo features Wayne, his wife Janet, Paulina, Dustin Johnson (her husband), and Trevor, Paulina's brother.

Gretzky has not been politically active and has rarely publicly talked about his political views. He praised Ontario Conservative Premier Doug Ford for his efforts to fight the Covid virus early in the pandemic.

"I just wanted to reach out and thank you for your leadership. And for all the politicians across our great country for their leadership. And to all the health care workers, fire fighters, and policemen, for doing such an incredible job in keeping as many people safe as possible."

Gretzky played most of his award-winning career with the Edmonton Oilers but finished his hockey career with the New York Rangers. He met wife Janet while he played with the Los Angeles Kings. He was raised in Brantford, ON, where he still maintains a family home. He remains the all-time National Hockey League leader in goals, assists and points.
