On Wednesday, officials from the Klein Independent School District in Houston, TX announced that a high school history teacher had been fired after inappropriate material was accidentally shown to the class.

The teacher, Mr. Kevin Welchel, was allegedly watching pornography on a school-issued laptop when the content was accidentally sent to the projector and beamed onto the screen at the front of the class.

According to ABC13, the incident took place on Monday during class while students took a pop-quiz. Some students reportedly saw the video before he could close it out.

"Coming from a teacher... It's a little alarming," one woman told ABC13, while a student whose brother was in the class at the time described the whole situation as "weird."

"[Welchel] was immediately removed and is no longer employed by the district," officials said. "Law enforcement is working with the district attorneys office to file charges, and all appropriate legal action will be taken to the fullest extent of the law. The district does not tolerate such completely unacceptable conduct."

According to Click2Houston, Welchel is facing a charge for display of harmful material to a minor. The incident is being investigated by the Klein ISD Police Department.
