Illegal alien teen would be 'allowed' back to class despite arrest for groping 9 girls at Fairfax high school: report

Parents in the Fairfax County School District have said that the 18-year-old illegal immigrant accused of groping nine girls would be allowed by the school to return to class, according to a new report.

Israel Flores Ortiz, 18, is a junior at Fairfax High School, and has been charged after being accused of groping nine girls between their legs as they walked through the halls. According to reporter Nick Minock, parents at Fairfax High School have said that the school system has been trying to sweep the alleged crimes "under the rug" and he added in a post to X that "parents also told me that the school system told them the illegal immigrant would be allowed to return to school."

In response to the controversy with Ortiz, the City of Fairfax Schools said in a statement, "The City of Fairfax School Board takes the recent situation at Fairfax High School very seriously. Our thoughts are with the students affected, their families, and the entire school community. We support the students who have been directly affected and encourage members of the Fairfax High School community to support one another during this difficult time. Inappropriate conduct has no place in our schools, and we understand the concern and distress this incident has caused for students and families."

The statement then defended Fairfax High School Principal Dr Georgina Aye, who has been slammed amid reports that the school tried to avoid the issue for months. Parents at the school have alleged that Ortiz has been groping the girls for half the school year.

One mother told Minock in an interview, “There's a group of about 12 individuals that have reported this assault. It was all perpetrated by a single individual who is a stranger to the girls. He just sneakily walked up behind them and put his hand in between their legs. It was not just a butt smack or a butt grab. It was a groping of a private area. It had been occurring for several months.”

It is not clear when Ortiz would be able to return to the school if he is released. On Friday, Judge Dipti Pidikiti-Smith denied Ortiz’s request to be released from jail, even after the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano agreed with his bail request. The Fairfax County Sheriff has also refused a detainer request from ICE to take Ortiz into custody.
