Protests kicked off the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Sunday, one day before the official proceedings were set to begin and formally coronate the party-chosen candidate, Kamala Harris. A heavy police presence accompanied protesters, who complained about racism, climate change, border security, and nicknamed the nominee "Killer Kamala." The march began at N. Michigan and Wacker Drive and headed south to E. 9th Street. It was organized by Bodies March, which mostly advocates for abortion and Palestinians.

Pride flag-waving protesters chanted "racist, sexist, anti-gay, Christian fascists go away" as they were flanked by cops. The mission of the Bodies March, per their demands, reads: "We demand federal action to expand access to abortion and reproductive health care, support families, and defend the rights of trans and queer people. We demand an end to reproductive genocide, an end to U.S. arms exports to Israel, and an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Palestine so all Palestinians can live in freedom and dignity with bodily autonomy and reproductive justice."

"Long live the intifada!" They chanted. "Out of your house, out of your home, we'll bring the war home." The far-left base of the Democrat Party has been extremely vocal about their displeasure with the Biden-Harris administration's policies toward Israel. Palestinian terror group Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis in a surprise attack on October 7, 2023, and kidnapped over 200. Almost instantly, far-leftists began backing the terrorists over Israel, which launched a war on Hamas and has been waging it ever since.

While the Democrat Party platform appears to include unrestricted abortion access, activists dressed in abortion pills, demanding abortion access, which they already get.

Pro-lifers counter-protested, saying that "queer rights" and "trans rights" start at conception.

A speaker at the march encouraged everyone to "go get abortion pills" while everyone cheered. The speaker pointed out, however, that abortion access does not rest on whether or not Demcorats are re-elected to the White House, since chemical abortion has been protected by the Supreme Court.

"DNC go home or we'll bring the war home!" They chanted. Others chanted "Killer Kamala" in reference to her administration's aiding Israel in their fight.

By the end of the night, there was a disruption inside the DNC delegate welcome party on stage at the Navy Pier.

More protests are planned for the week ahead as Harris formally accepts the nomination of her party. In addition to the protests outside the convention, there are some 30 delegates who represent the "uncommitted" votes who refused to vote for President Joe Biden in the primary due to his support for Israel. A campaign against Biden during the primaries resulted in pro-Palestinian voters casting their votes as uncommitted instead of for Biden.

The protesters claimed responsibility for Biden being removed from the ticket and being replaced by Harris. "Genocide Joe would still be on the ticket if it were not for this movement ... You, Vice President Harris, get to run for office because we ousted your predecessor right here in these streets!"
