All available appointments for free abortions and vasectomies courtesy of Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers, Ill. have been filled. Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers announced that the window to sign up for the pregnancy termination and sterilizing services had closed because all appointments had been taken. Current VP and Dem presidential contender Kamala Harris has made abortion advocacy one of her hallmarks during the Biden-Harris administration.

"All free vasectomy and medication abortions are filled for our mobile health clinic in Chicago. Check back soon — we will share the interest form link again if we have cancellations," they said.

This came after the group posted an announcement that their mobile medical unit would be stationed near the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The group shared a post saying "It’s not too late to reserve your FREE medication abortion appointment at our mobile health clinic in Chicago’s West Loop 8/19 & 8/20," with a link to the Google document. "We currently have a waitlist for free vasectomies. Repost to spread the word!"

The post was accompanied by a video of three women chanting "our pussies our choice" in front of The Wieners Circle, a Chicago street food vendor. The sign for The Wieners Circle reads "Protected abortion, IVF, contraception."

"Here we come, Chicago!" Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers announced in an earlier post. "Our mobile health clinic will be in the West Loop with Chicago Abortion Fund & the Weiners Circle Aug 19-20, providing FREE vasectomies & medication abortion. EC will also be available for free without an appointment." Planned Parenthood Great Rivers serves Missouri and Illinois.

The Google form, now full up with people seeking to end their pregnancies or prevent themselves from having children, read "Planned Parenthood Great Rivers is bringing our mobile health care unit to the DNC! We are offering vasectomy and medication abortions from the mobile unit in the West Loop. Services will be provided on a sliding-fee scale — pay what you can and get the health care you need." The appointments were available for Aug. 19 or 20.

The link now reads that the spots are all taken. If there are cancellations, Planned Parenthood will make the form available again and open up to the waitlist.

For those who can't get the free appointments, there are many options for pregnancy termination in the Democrat-run city of Chicago, including at the Family Planning Associates clinic, which terminates more than 15,000 pregnancies every year. The clinic increased the number of abortions they perform by 20 percent since Roe v. Wade was overturned at the federal level.

While the bus is not directly affiliated with the DNC, Planned Parenthood and abortion are mainstays of the Democrat left. Dem nominee for president Kamala Harris wants to enact federal abortion legislation to guarantee that abortions can be performed and obtained in all fifty states.

"I am being precise," Harris said in September 2023, long before taking the top of the ticket from her boss Joe Biden. "We need to put into law the protections of Roe v Wade. And that is about going back to where we were before the Dobbs decision."

Harris' supporters in the abortion movement, however, say they want to "go beyond Roe." Mini Timmaraju, DEP of Reproductive Freedom for All, said "the debate is what we can get done and how quickly it can get done." Timmaraju also separated Harris from other leading Dems, saying "she has a longer history as an advocate, and she's a lot more comfortable with the issue."
