MUST WATCH: Jamaal Bowman removed emergency signs from Cannon Office Building Doors before pulling fire alarm

There's no doubt that New York's Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm on Saturday, September 30 in Congress to prevent a vote from moving forward on a 45-day stop gap spending bill.

He admitted it, and there's video evidence that proves it. But Bowman has said repeatedly that he pulled the fire alarm somewhat accidentally when he was just trying to open the door. 

New footage out on Thursday shows unequivocally that he knew exactly what he was doing, did it intentionally, and then lied about it.

The surveillance footage shows Bowman at a set of entrance doors to the Cannon office building. He walks over to the doors, removes emergency signs from the doors, and then goes back to pull the alarm. 

Surveillance footage shows Bowman pulling that alarm, which stands next to the doors that he said he was trying to use to exit the building.

The Democrat and progressive Squad member spoke after being charged with a misdemeanor on Thursday, saying that he was "not trying to disrupt any official government proceeding." 

Bowman did plead guilty to charges on Wednesday. "Bowman will deliver an apology to Capitol Police and pay a $1,000 fine, under a deal with prosecutors. In return, the charge is expected to be dismissed in three months," Roll Call reports.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who was ousted by a coalition of Republicans led by Matt Gaetz, along with the entire congressional Democrat caucus, spoke out after Bowman was revealed to be the fire alarm man.

"We’ve watched how people have been treated if they’ve done something wrong in this Capitol. It would be interesting to see how he is treated," McCarthy said during his last weekend as House Speaker.

Bowman was charged with a misdemeanor, plead guilty, had the small fine dropped, and will face no further punishment for having pulled a fire alarm, causing the evacuation of the House.
