JD Vance slams Kamala for covering up Biden's cognitive decline: 'she lied about it'

Vice presidential pick JD Vance (R-OH) slammed Vice President Kamala Harris in his first campaign appearance in Ohio, saying that she has "lied" about President Joe Biden's mental and cognitive decline during his presidency.

During the campaign appearance on Monday, Vance said, “She signed up for every single one of Joe Biden’s failures and she lied about his mental capacity to serve as president. Our country has been saddled for 3.5 years with a president who cannot do the job and that’s all because Kamala Harris and the rest of the Democrats lied about his ability to be our president." 

"I think we should kick them all out come November and replace them with people who care about this country," Vance added in his speech. Vance said that "elite Democrats" had pushed for Biden to step out of the race and be replaced with Harris. “That is not how it works. That is a threat to democracy, not the Republican Party, which is fighting for democracy every single day."  

"I was told I was going to get to debate Kamala Harris and now President Trump's going to get to debate her? I'm kind of pissed off about that if I'm being honest with you," he joked.

Vance said that Harris has talked about the US with "condemnation" instead of appreciation. “If you want to lead this country, you should feel grateful for it, you should feel gratitude and I never hear that when I listen to Kamala Harris." 

Vance added that the Republican Party would welcome Democrats who felt "disgusted" about how Biden had been removed as the presumptive nominee for the Democrats. During the rally, he also took time to focus on those who he saw as part of the "forgotten communities" in America and leaned into his rural roots.
