Activist and actress Jenny McCarthy has said that Charlie Kirk's death led to her to "completely surrender" herself to Jesus Christ while she was talking about the effects as well as the impact that Kirk's life and death had on people around the world.

McCarthy said that she has grown closer to God while speaking to Alex Clark on her podcast "Culture Apothecary," and was asked about how she posted a video of herself singing Christian music after the shooting.

"It's so sad, because the work he was doing was so good. And it's amazing to me how people really do have two realities," McCarthy said, pointing out how left-wing media and other pundits painted Kirk. She noted that she he had immense respect for Kirk as he had the courage to speak to publicly despite threats.

“It was such a dark day. It's still a dark time, I think, for so many people,” she said while holding back tears, “But let's talk about the good. Because then I can stop crying. Every horrible thing. If you find the good, it can help you move forward. Look at the mass awakening. Look at how many people came closer to God, even including myself.”

“I mean, I was raised Catholic. I’ve always had this, you know, with Evan, I have a very deep relationship with God. You know, some people have to work really hard to hear Him. I mean, I've got a direct line. I mean, Jesus is my homie, like, I've always been a follower of Christ, but when he passed, I completely surrendered. I am so devoted, I started Bible study immediately.”

She later commented on the number of people who have become more religious after Kirk’s death. "He changed the world. I mean, imagine having that as your legacy. You shifted, you brought all those people closer to Christ, what a gift.”

Kirk was murdered on September 10 while speaking to college students on the campus of Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, the suspect in the case, if facing the death penalty in the state of Utah.
