Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took to the stage in Wilmington, Delaware, and gave a victory speech. The networks have called the election in favour for the Biden/Harris campaign, although the count remains unfinished and disputed in court by President Trump.
Harris took the stage first. Speaking to America, she says ""you chose hope and unity, decency and science. And yes, truth!" She continued, “while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last. Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.”
Biden followed Harris to the stage and gave his speech. “Folks, the people of this nation have spoken. They’ve delivered us a clear victory, a convincing victory, a victory for we the people. We won with the most votes ever cast in the history of our nation," he said.
Speaking to Trump supporters, Biden said "let's give each other a chance," and continues "your opponents are not your enemies."
His speech was followed by fireworks above Biden HQ. Biden's family, including Hunter Biden, joined him on stage to celebrate alongside the hundreds of attendees, stationed in cars all over the field.
