The song "Fighter" by Jon Kahn, released by Baste Records and inspired by Donald Trump, was played today at Trump's Butler, PA rally as the 45th president returned to the site where he almost lost his life on July 13 to an assassin's bullet.
The song was played before JD Vance, Donald Trump and Elon Musk took the stage.
Last week, "Fighter" climbed to the top of Billboard digital song sales chart. The track draws inspiration from Trump's resilience in overcoming two assassination attempts and his relentless determination in the face of challenges.
The song has previously been played at a Trump rally, in Indiana, Pennsylvania in late September.
Co-writer Chris Wallin said upon release of the song, "Working with Jon brought me back to the days when artists wrote and recorded songs that they not only loved but songs that represented what they believed as a person. Speaking for others through music is what true artists do. And that is what Jon is."
Kahn said of writing with Wallin, "I've been in quite a few Nashville writers' rooms and this first write with Chris was truly effortless in that we were totally in sync as to what we wanted the song to be."
During the rally, Elon Musk implored the massive crowd to register and vote.
"The other side wants to take away your freedom of speech. They want to take away your right to bear arms," Musk said, referring to Democrats. He added, "President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America." He told the audience that "you must have free speech in order to have democracy."
The lyrics to "Fighter":
I’ve been down
Counted out
Smiling through the taste of blood
In my own mouth
I got bruises
Broken bones
But they don’t know
I ain’t in this ring alone
I’m a fighter
No one can say that I’m a run and hider
I was born to be a do or die-er
A make it righter
Don’t throw that towel just yet
Don’t cash in that last bet
Cause I hit harder when I’m tired
I’m a fighter
I get back up
That’s what I do
I didn’t soldier on this far just to lose
So take your shot
Is that all you got?
I’m a fighter
No one can say that I’m a run and hider
I was born to be a do or die-er
A make it righter
Don’t throw that towel just yet
Don’t cash in that last bet
Cause I hit harder when I’m tired
I’m a fighter
No one can keep me down
They didn’t know but they know now
That I’m a fighter
No one can say that I’m a run and hider
Don’t cash in that last bet
Don’t throw that towel just yet
I’m a fighter
