Julie Payette Public School in Whitby, Ontario may be changing its name amid toxic workplace allegations against the disgraced former Governor General.
According to Durham Radio News, the Durham District School Board is looking to have community conversations to determine whether a name-change would be necessary.
RCMP officers said that some members who were assigned to Governor General detail experienced harassment and “other troubling behaviour” from Payette.
"From our perspective, workplace corrective action discussions are a reasonable part of professional development," wrote the RCMP in a statement. "Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, inclusivity and have access to an effective, thorough and predictable complaints framework, whether you're an office worker, factory worker, or an RCMP Member protecting the personal safety of the Queen's representative in Canada."
