After the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 in the Stanley Cup playoffs final series, Justin Trudeau announced on Twitter that he would honor he made with Joe Biden – with smoked meat sandwiches.

On July 9, DailyMail.com asked White House Press Secretary Jan Psaki about the bet. Psaki wasn't aware of the wager, but did add that the White House do have goals to organize events that include visits from winning sports teams.

The Tampa Bay Lightning haven't been confirmed to make a White House visit yet. But with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' appearance last month, the Biden administration are hoping more sports teams will follow that lead.

'We have to say that the fans down in western Florida are having a pretty good this year,' Biden said during the Buccaneers visit. 'We're making a pretty strong case to start calling Tampa the "city of champions."
