Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has launched a series of digital ads on Snapchat and Instagram implying that young men won’t get dates with women unless they vote.

The advertisement parodies a popular online dating show where a man is interviewed by several women holding balloons. The women pop their balloons if they lose interest in the man as he introduces himself.

In the ad, a black man lists several desirable qualities, such as his job, salary, and fitness routine. However, when a woman asks, “Do you have a plan to vote” and he responds, “Uhh, I didn’t plan on it,” the women all immediately pop their balloons. The ad then flashes the message, “Don’t get popped,” urging viewers to make sure they vote.

The ad is reportedly running in Arizona, particularly near college campuses, according to NBC News. This campaign is part of Harris’ broader strategy to increase outreach to young voters, a demographic known for historically low turnout rates in elections.

The advertisement, which seems to be specifically geared towards black men due to its all-black cast, comes as Harris has been struggling to secure confidence from this historically Democrat-supportive voter bloc.

In a recent poll, 45 percent of young women said they would view their date negatively if they voted for Trump compared to 39 percent of young men.

The Democratic nominee is far less popular among black voters than initially expected, according to recent polling data, which has prompted renewed efforts by the campaign to appeal to this demographic. This trend has resulted in Harris recently rolling out an “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” which featured a number of initiatives such as offering loans to black entrepreneurs and legalizing recreational marijuana.
