Internal Democrat polling for presidential candidate Kamala Harris is reportedly giving her some bad news about the state of her campaign in key battleground states. This comes, even as some public polling has shown Harris up nationally.

Political analyst Mark Halperin made the claim on Wednesday, saying that he has seen private polling numbers from the Democrats and commented, “The conversation I’m having with Trump people and Democrats with data are extremely bullish on Trump’s chances in the last 48 hours, extremely bullish.”

The analyst said that Harris is in danger of losing six swing states from what he has seen and determined that any lead she might have is tenuous. He pointed to Trump’s recent surge in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, where a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday has Trump leading in Michigan and Wisconsin and closing the gap in Pennsylvania. Halperin also referenced a report from the Wall Street Journal.

According to the WSJ an internal poll done by Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin's campaign last week showed Harris down by three points against Trump in Wisconsin while Baldwin was up by two points in her race. This is despite Harris having a slight lead in public polling averages in the state.

“What I’m telling you is happening in private polling is she’s got a problem … So the new New York Times poll shows her up three nationally. We all know that three is like the bubble point, right? If she’s up three, she’s got a chance to win the Electoral College, but they’d rather be at four, and they don’t want to be at two,” Halperin said.

Although Halperin says he isn’t conceding that the Times poll is accurate, he says it’s more important to examine the general decline of the Democratic Party in the Rust Belt and that Harris is going to have to win both Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to win the presidential election.

“So you see here, Tammy Baldwin’s Senate campaign poll shows Harris down three in Wisconsin. We all said yesterday, Wisconsin and Michigan are looking worse for Harris than before. Baldwin has Harris down three … Why is the Baldwin campaign sharing its polling with the Wall Street Journal? Good question.”

Halperin said the mainstream media is still in applause mode for Harris and isn’t keen on looking at the numbers too closely. “I just saw some new private polling today that’s very robust private polling. She’s in a lot of trouble … You think of the seven battleground states, which ones is Harris in danger of losing? I would say Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia. I’m not saying she’ll lose all six, but she’s in danger,” the strategist said, noting that the only one she feels comfortable about is Nevada.

“That to me, if the whole thing’s about the Electoral College, you take any of the — any of the Sun or the Rust Belt states away from her, it’s very difficult for her to win, very difficult. It’s not mathematically impossible, but it probably won’t happen if she loses any of them,” Halperin said. “But what I’m telling you today is, things are not moving right for her.”
