On Thursday, it was revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris has sought regular advice from former First Lady and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton amidst criticisms about Kamala's leadership.

"Her allies increasingly are concerned that while Mr. Biden relied on her to help him win the White House, he does not need her to govern," wrote The New York Times, in regards to criticisms surrounding Harris and President Joe Biden.
In the face of criticisms, a declining approval rating amongst US voters, and the possibility of either a presidential or vice presidential run in 2024, Harris has reportedly turned to a number of powerful confidants to help plan future moves.
Harris has asserted that coverage of her vice presidency would be different if it was one of the 48 that came before her, all white males.
She has also confided in Clinton and others about the difficult issues she has undertaken, including finding the root cause of immigration and voting rights.
"I think it's no secret that the different things she has been asked to take on are incredibly demanding, not always well understood publicly and take a lot of work as well as a lot of skill," Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in an interview. "You have to do everything except one thing, which is take credit."
According to The New York Times, "Since arriving in Washington, Ms. Harris has sought the counsel of other women — including Mrs. Clinton, the first female Democratic presidential nominee — who have achieved historical political success to help her find a path."

The two ladies have spoken every few months by phone. Most recently, in November, Clinton visited Harris at the White House.
"There is a double standard; it's sadly alive and well," Clinton said in an interview. "A lot of what is being used to judge her, just like it was to judge me, or the women who ran in 2020, or everybody else, is really colored by that."
Harris has reflected these concerns as well, saying that she was discontented with the media's coverage of her and that it would be different if she were a white man.
