KamalaHQ rebrand page turns '67' in handle to '68' after being mocked as 'cringe'

The social media account, "HQ," a rebrand of KamalaHQ on X, changed its handle from @headquarters_67 to @headquarters68_ after being ruthlessly mocked online as well as slammed by CNN for appearing to play into the Gen Alpha "67" trend. The trend, which some said is now dying off, involves saying "67" for no significant reason other than it is part of the trend and was popular among Gen Alpha in 2025. 

After making the rebrand shift, many pointed out that the "HQ" media page had appeared to be playing into the trend by putting "67" in their X account handle. A video of the former Vice President announcing the change had numerous replies mocking the apparent attempt to appeal to Gen Alpha. 

Conservative journalist Chris Rufo said, "My children have informed me that '67' is already old, tired, and cringe, so once again, Kamala is coming up short."

Republican strategist Matt Whitlock wrote on X in response, "Kamala putting '67' in her handle because she thinks the kids like it is the 2026 version of Hillary Clinton's 'Pokemon GO to the polls.'"

CNN even said that the phrase of 67 was something that kids only "used to say," and that the handle from the former campaign page for Harris was "cringe." 

After the wave of negative reactions, the page has now changed the number to "68" in the handle, which brought a number of other posts from users mocking the messaging attempt and change. X user Michael Duncan wrote, "Kamala changed it from 67 to 68. Another victory for cyber bullying."

Another user pointed to the comments from CNN, and said, "CNN calls Kamala’s 67 rebranded X account “cringe”… so they changed it. To 68."

Conservative influencer Vince Langman also commented on the change, saying, "This is hilarious, after getting destroyed on X for using the cringe worthy headquarters 67 team Kamala have already changed it to headquarters 68."
