Former GOP candidate for Governor of Arizona Kari Lake announced on Friday that she is weighing her options at a potential bid for the United States Senate.

Lake, who suffered a surprising defeat against Democrat Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs last year, told Newsmax that she is "seriously contemplating" a run for Congress to defeat Arizona's liberal Congress members who don't have the best interests of their constituents, or the United States of America.

"We have a Senate seat that we could take and put an America First Senator there. We desperately need some people who are going to put the citizens of their state first when they go to the federal government, go off to the Senate or the House. I'm seriously contemplating running for Senate," Lake said.

"We have two hardcore liberals who vote with Joe Biden 93 to 100 percent of the time, who are running. And that is not Arizona," Lake explained. "Arizona is not all about what Joe Biden's about."

"As a matter of fact, Arizona is seriously depressed about what Joe Biden is doing to our country. So, I'm giving it some thought. I might run for US Senate. I'll make up my mind here in the next few months, and once I do, if I decide to jump in...I'll fight to make sure we win and get a US Senate seat back," Lake said.

Lake, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, lost the bid for governor to Katie Hobbs, Arizona's former Secretary of State. That election was highly contested due to many voter discrepancies that occurred in Maricopa County, and Lake has maintained that she won the election and that it was rigged.

In regards to Arizona's US Senate election, Lake stated last month, "I've looked at the polling, to be honest, and I believe I'm the only one who can win that race," according to NBC News.
