Kash Patel says report revealing 274 FBI agents were undercover on J6 shows Biden admin lied to Congress, the American People

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed reports this week that 274 plainclothes agents were deployed at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, clarifying what their role was on that day.

According to Fox News, Patel confirmed that the agents were sent into the Capitol to help manage crowds after the Metropolitan Police declared a riot. Patel added that this is not the proper role of FBI agents and that former Director Christopher Wray was not transparent about the bureau’s role when he testified before Congress.

"Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards," Patel told the outlet. "This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened."

"Thanks to agents coming forward, we are now uncovering the truth. We are fully committed to transparency, and justice and accountability continues with this FBI,” he added.

An FBI official told Fox News that there is no evidence agents were involved in events related to President Donald Trump’s speech earlier that day. The official also said Wray should have disclosed their presence when asked about FBI involvement in previous testimony.

In 2023, Wray told a House committee, “If you are asking if the violence at the Capitol was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or agents, the answer is no.” However, he did not reveal that FBI agents were within the crowd.

President Trump reacted strongly to the revelations, citing the shocking report from The Blaze and criticizing Wray. In a post on Truth Social Saturday, Trump wrote, "It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.”

"This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as ‘Law Enforcement Officials,” Trump continued. “I want to know who each and every one of these so-called ‘Agents’ are, and what they were up to on that now ‘Historic’ Day. Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country. I owe this investigation of ‘Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians’ to them!”
