During a recent interview, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Freya Allan and Owen Teague were asked whether they were "Team Human" or "team ape."

Both sided with our primate cousins, arguing that humans have ruined the Earth.

"Listen, obviously when I'm playing Mae, I'm team human," Allan began, "but I'm team ape."

Teague was more blunt with his answer, saying simply, "I'm fully team ape."

"Why so?" the interviewer asked.

"I mean look at the planet" Allan shot back, as she and Teague laughed.

"Look at what the humans have done to the Earth," he added.

Allan went on to state that, "I dislike humans a lot," noting that while there are times she sees people come together and thinks "oh isn't this lovely," for the most part she "absolutely hate[s] us."

The latest installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise was released in theaters on May 10, and depicts the apes as super-intelligent while humans are essentially "feral" creatures.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film netted nearly $59 million in its opening weekend.
