The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a woman captured on surveillance cameras trying to kidnap a one-year-old baby.

The woman is also a suspect in another attempted kidnapping with a similar MO, where she claims the baby is hers. She is described of having a Hispanic appearance, being approximately five and a half feet tall, and of normal weight for her height.

In the camera footage, she can be seen wearing a white shirt, light green shorts, and dark colored slippers.

According to local news affiliate ABC7, the camera footage is from Sunday, and shows the suspect in question confronting another woman in a parking lot, claiming the baby she was carrying in her arms was actually her child. In reality, the baby was the victim's one-year-old brother.

The above incident occurred just off of the 100 block of West Manchester Avenue in Los Angeles. The suspect then went to the 8000 block of South Main Street. At this new location, she spotted a group of children playing. She tried to grab a 5-year-old boy from the group and take him away.

Nearby family members, however, saw what was happening and stopped the suspect, who then fled the scene.

Anyone who has any information regarding this case is requested to contact the LAPD .
