Posobiec confirmed on Newsmax's Finnerty that “law enforcement is involved” with the video that he released of Swalwell with a woman.
Swalwell resigned on Tuesday as multiple women have come forward with sexual allegations against him, including Lonna Drewes.
Drewes said at a news conference with lawyers, "He raped me, and he choked me. And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness.”
"I thought I died,” she added. Authorities in Los Angeles said they are investigating the incident involving Drewes and Swalwell. "The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau is investigating a case involving a female adult who reported being sexually assaulted by Eric Swalwell," the department said in a statement. "The investigation remains in its preliminary stages and is ongoing."
Additionally, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is also investigating allegations involving Swalwell’s conduct.
Swalwell announced on Monday that he would be resigning, writing, "I am aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against me and other members. Expelling anyone from Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong. But, it's also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress."
Swalwell also dropped out of the California gubernatorial race over the weekend after other allegations were dropped in a report on Friday. Although he has resigned his seat and dropped out of the governor’s race, Swalwell has maintained that the allegations against him are “flat false.”
