Lakers superstar LeBron James is clamoring for a championship parade for victorious Los Angeles teams in the middle of a pandemic.

James went to Twitter right after the LA Dodgers took the Major League baseball championship on Tuesday night, saying that both teams deserve a parade.

"Man can we PLEASE have a parade!!! I know I know we can’t but DAMN I wanna celebrate with our @Lakers & @Dodgers fans!!! LA is the city of CHAMPIONS Trophy," tweeted James.

According to CBS Sports, Dodgers player Cody Bellinger picked up on James's enthusiasm and repeated the sentiment on twitter, tagging Los Angeles mayor, Eric Garcetti:

Garcetti, responded to the tweet with an offer:

"Let's talk. I'm down for anything safe. And so proud of you and the team. Thank you for ending our 32-year drought. And @KingJames you and the Lakers deserve the same. Thank you both and the @Dodgers and @Lakers for the best single month in LA sports history!" Garcetti said.

What exactly would be defined as "anything safe" is not clear at the moment, since the novel coronavirus continues to spread throughout the country, with new transmissions of the virus continuing to take place. Los Angeles has seen over 300,000 cases of the virus since the pandemic began, and over 7,000 deaths in total.

Garcetti has also been the subject of no small controversy for generally promoting and implementing strict lockdown measures in Los Angeles this year.
