Actress and comedian Margaret Cho claimed during a recent podcast interview that the United States is currently experiencing a "trans genocide." Cho urged Americans to do everything in their power to stop it; however, she provided little evidence to support the claim but pointed to bathroom laws and other policy.

Instead, the longtime LGBTQ and anti-Trump activist compared the ban on trans-identifying men accessing women's facilities to genocide. Cho made the comments on the "Who's With Me?" podcast hosted by Kamau Bell.

"It's really scary and the way our government treats trans lives, you know, insane bathroom laws and identity laws, or taking people's driver's licenses," Cho said. It seems endless, whether it's re-legalizing conversion therapy. Supreme Court down. You have all of these things that, you know, we're in the middle of a trans genocide, and we have to do anything that we can to stop it. We have to make sure that trans people are safe and then start working on restoring equality to their lives."

Cho proceeded to slam comedians for making jokes about transgender ideology, claiming that their remarks result in trans people dying.

"I think trans lives has become a very big thing in comedy, because they want to contest it," she said. "They don't understand that when you take trans lives lightly in a comedy routine, trans people die, and they don't have that understanding. There are real consequences to your actions, because they don't affect you personally, but this will affect a trans person's life."

Despite being offended by trans jokes, Cho made national headlines last month for mocking the death of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and claimed that he was a closeted homosexual. She followed up by wishing death upon longtime Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, who was recently hospitalized for failing health. The Instagram post has since been deleted.

"From the closet to the coffin-real seamless," said Cho, according to Breitbart News. "So it's Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham...it does happen in threes. Hope."
