Trump also announced that he would be making a "Faith Office" in the White House, which will be headed by Pastor Paula White. In addition to the speech at the Hilton, Trump also spoke at the Capitol in an earlier speech, commenting on the importance of God and religion.
"I really believe you can't be happy without religion, without that belief, I really believe that. I just don't see how you can be," Trump said.

During his speech, Trump also spoke about the impact the assassination attempt had on him with respect to religion. "It changed something in me. I feel even stronger. I believed in God, but I feel much more strongly about it."
Trump said, "God was watching me," and said that his son Donald Trump Jr. equated the shot missing to missing a one-foot putt in golf. He said that Don Jr.'s faith in God also increased as a result.
The first portion of the event took place in Statuary Hall, where he said that they were steps away from the Capitol Rotunda, where statues of past presidents such as George Washington and others stand and emphasized Washington's devotion to God during the American Revolution.
He also announced an executive order to create a "National Garden of American Heroes," a park filled with figures of significance in American history. The park will be in celebration of the 250th anniversary of America's founding.
