Local DAs could go after Biden family 'now that we've crossed that line' after Trump prosecution: Jim Jordan

"I didn't want to see what happened in the Manhattan DA office but now that we've crossed that line, that's where it's likely to go."

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said that Republican district attorneys are looking for ways to prosecute President Biden and his family, in a statement to the New York Post on Saturday. Jordan added that one of his "Republican colleagues has indicated that he has had some local DAs approach him and say he’s trying to do that."

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said on April 5th to Fox & Friends that two DA's had called him, "one from a county attorney in Kentucky and one from a county attorney in Tennessee." Comer added, "They were Republican, obviously, both states are heavily Republican. They want to know if there are ways they can go after the Bidens now."

The move comes after Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Jordan said, "I didn't want to see what happened in the Manhattan DA office but now that we've crossed that line, that’s where it's likely to go."

He continued, "Frankly you can't blame people for doing it. I'm not saying I am supportive of that but I think that now has become the rules of the game."

On April 4th, Comer and Jordan criticized Bragg's move to implement a gag order on the former president and argued that the move would be a violation of Trump's 1st Amendment rights.

In a joint statement they said, "To put any restrictions on the ability of President Trump to discuss his mistreatment at the hands of this politically motivated prosecutor would only further demonstrate the weaponization of the New York justice system." The statement continued, "To even contemplate stifling the speech of the former commander in chief and current candidate for President is at odds with everything America stands for."

Comer's Oversight and Accountability Committee is investigating the Biden family's business dealings around the world. On March 13th, they issued subpoenas to three of Hunter Biden's associates with John R. Walker being the only one named.

A spokesperson for the committee told the Washington Examiner, The Oversight Committee has subpoenaed and obtained financial records related to the Biden family’s influence peddling. These documents solidify our understanding of several areas of concern and have opened new avenues of investigation about the Biden family’s business schemes."
