A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to traffic an infant for the purpose of raping the baby in Draper, Utah. He is accused of being in possession of child sex abuse material and also wrote about his "love for murdering" in a manifesto.

Makai McBride Nordfors, 22, who was staying with a "sponsor family," was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, attempted human trafficking, obstruction of justice, as well as evidence tampering, according to KSL.

The investigation was sparked after there was a tip to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. The group said that the tip came from an anonymous source who said "that an unknown male from the West Coast would be driving a 2-month-old drugged child" to a Draper address in Utah.

The anonymous tipster, who turned out to be Nordfors, said, "Just please make sure that sick twisted person is brought to justice, please." Authorities then traced the tip back to Nordfors and he said that when he was using the dark web, he "was glancing at stuff" and said that "he wandered onto the kid variety, which he further described as child porn," according to the police affidavit.

The suspect said he started chatting with a man in California who offered to bring the suspect a 2-month-old baby that he could sexually exploit. He "admitted he spoke to an unidentified man and discussed the trade of a 2-month-old and possibly a 3-year-old, who would be brought to Draper from California," the police said.

"Makai said that he said, 'No,' but then thought, 'What if this child is real?'" according to the police report. Nordfors said he made the tip "after he realized the man was serious." The suspect admitted to police that he had planned to pick up the child, but "admitted that he got scared, that he deleted and wiped his computer, wiping all his files and factory resetting the laptop he viewed this material on."

After police were able to obtain the device, "child sexual abuse material was located" on the laptop, as well as communication chats discussing the trafficking of the baby." Additionally, authorities found hand-written journals from Nordfors where he discussed "understanding the mind of pedophiles (how pedophiles talk to children online)."

"The journal was several pages long, seemingly a to-do list on how to communicate with children online for enticement," the affidavit added. The journal also had a manifesto talking about a "love for murdering," police records stated.

"A file folder was also located with a printed manifesto talking about a love for murdering, and plans on how to act out a murder, who the victims should be, and what to pack in a murder bag," the affidavit added.

"For the longest time I have loved the idea of murdering. The act of killing has always appealed to me," Nordfors reportedly wrote in the manifesto.

He added in the manifesto that he is "not a psychopath or sociopath," but he also wants to sexually abuse young children. He also wrote, "I ... only want to kill people who hurt others, such as pedophiles and rapists and murderers. I know it's hypocritical of me to plan on doing the same things to people and kids … so I will have rules."

Authorities said that Nordfors is a "substantial danger to the community and to all children."
