An independent grocery store in Kitchener, Ontario caught a man allegedly stealing. Instead of punishing the him or calling police, the store decided to help him out by supplying him with a full bag of groceries, according to CTV News.
“Just witnessed a man caught stealing at our local grocery,” said a Twitter user on Monday. "Watched the owner confront him and pull fruits & vegetables out of his pack. Then heard the owner say, 'we will feed you.' 5 minutes later saw the man walking thru the parking lot with a full bag of groceries. #kwawesome"
The grocery store was identified as Central Fresh Market.
According to the twitter user, the owner said, “we will feed you.”
The man could be seen leaving the store with a full bag of groceries just minutes later.
Many Twitter users commented asking where the incident took place so they could show their support for the store. The post was liked by over 7,000 people.
“We were simply helping someone in need, many are very fortunate NOT to worry about their next meal,” Central Fresh Market wrote on Twitter.
The incident has had a far-reaching and positive impact on the surrounding community.
The original poster—Drkradersma—said her young son witnessed the incident as well.
