McDonald’s released a statement after former President Donald Trump visited the fast food giant, where they said that they could not confirm that Vice President Harris ever worked there.

McDonald’s statement extended an invitation to both her and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to visit one of the restaurants “in order to share how McDonald’s provides meaningful pathways to economic opportunity and feeds and fosters local communities.”

The statement also comes after several accusations by Trump that Harris never worked at McDonald’s and the fast food chain made clear in its statement that it does not endorse politicians for office: "Though we are not a political brand, we’ve been proud to hear former President Trump’s love for McDonald’s and Vice President Harris’s fond memories working under the Arches. While we and our franchisees don’t have records for all positions dating back to the early ‘80s, what makes ‘1 in 8’ so powerful is the shared experience so many Americans have had,” in reference to the statistic that 1 out of 8 Americans have worked for the company.

Trump’s visit was called “bizarre” by some commentators, but it was largely praised, including left-wing commentator Cenk Uygur.

“Some in the press called Trump's McDonald's photo-op bizarre. This is how you lose credibility. That was a home run photo-op. He looked like a real person there, connecting with the average American. If you can't see that, you're totally blind,” Uygur wrote.

Prior to his visit, Trump posted on Truth Social that his campaign checked in with McDonald’s and proved that Harris never worked there: “We have checked with McDonald’s, and they say, definitively, that there is no record of Lyin’ Kamala Harris ever having worked there. In other words, she never worked there, and has lied about this “job” for years. Additionally, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are killing franchises, want to end all franchises, which will destroy values and jobs. Also, remember, from me, No Tax On Tips!”
