Mel Brooks and his son Max Brooks have made a comedy video to encourage people to practice social distancing. Mel stays inside the house to keep his distance while Max talks to the camera and gives tips on how to avoid spreading coronavirus.

Mel Brooks, the American comedy legend, is known for being a director, writer, actor, producer and more. Some of his most famous movies include Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, and Robinhood: Men in Tights. He is 93 years old.

Max Brooks is a 47-year-old actor and author. He wrote for Saturday Night Live from 2001-2003. He is best known for his book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War which was adapted to film and starred Brad Pitt.

In the video Max explains that if he were to get coronavirus, he would probably be fine—but if his dad got it, it would be much more serious.

Max says, “if I give it to him, he could give it to Carl Reiner, who can give it to Dick Van Dyke. And before I know it, I've wiped out a whole generation of comic legends. When it comes to coronavirus, I have to think about who I can infect. And so should you.”

Max finishes the video by adding, “Do your part and don’t be a spreader.”

There have now been approximately 180,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus throughout the world and close to 79,000 recoveries.
