“We just became aware of the video and are in the process of gathering more information. The NBA unequivocally condemns all forms of hate speech," NBA spokesman Mike Bass told Marc Stein of The New York Times.
Esports is what Leonard developed a career off of, alongside professional basketball. In June 2019 he signed on with FaZeClan and built up a livestreaming presence since then. ORIGIN PC reportedly cut sponsorship ties with Meyers Leonard immediately following the incident. A look at Leonard’s Twitter account reveals that a matter of days ago he shouted out the company.
Leonard recently bought a mansion in South Florida for $7.78 million, signaling his confidence at having a future with the Miami Heat team.
