Minneapolis family charged in brutal assault on Savanah Hernandez granted restraining orders against TPUSA reporter, claim to be victims

The Minneapolis family members who have been federally indicted for an alleged attack on Turning Point USA "Frontlines" reporter Savanah Hernandez have been granted temporary restraining orders against the reporter, Hernandez announced on Tuesday.

All three defendants, Chris, DeYanna, and Paige Ostroushko, alleged to the court that they are the victims of "harassment" and "assault" from Hernandez, who was mob assaulted by the defendants while reporting outside the Whipple Federal Building in April. Hernandez, who sustained physical injuries and a concussion, said the Ostroushkos "extensively lied" about her, as well as the events that unfolded that day, in order to receive emergency restraining orders.

Additionally, the defendants petitioned the court to impose a gag order on Hernandez, attempting to prevent the reporter from posting about the attack on social media, according to court filings. Court documents also show that the Ostroushkos are trying to get Hernandez, as well as her family, banned from the vicinity of the ICE facility and the Minnesota county in which they live. Hernandez has not been charged with a crime and is the victim in this case, as evidenced by ample video footage and indictments.

"All three allege that I was the aggressor and have been waging a 'hate and defamation campaign' as well as a 'doxxing campaign' against them while portraying myself 'as the victim,' when I 'assaulted them first,'" said Hernandez in a post on X, explaining that the defendants are trying to play victim.

"Chris, whose restraining order is the craziest of the three," Hernandez continued, "is also petitioning the court to ban me from speaking about the Ostroushokos on my own social media accounts and is also trying to get me banned from the county he lives in. He and Paige are also trying to get me completely banned from the Whipple ICE facility, including the public sidewalk 'where the protesters are.'"

Furthermore, the reporter detailed false assault claims that Paige and DeYanna made in their petitions, including Hernandez punching Paige in the face and physically grabbing DeYanna by the neck. There is no video evidence to back these claims.

On April 11, Hernandez was allegedly assaulted and harassed by the Ostroshkous while reporting on an anti-US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest outside the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis. Defendant Paige Ostroshkou, the daughter, invaded Hernandez's personal space before physically harassing and assaulting the reporter unprovoked, video footage shows.

While Hernandez was being surrounded by an unruly mob of agitators, defendant DeYanna Ostroshkou, the mother, rushed to attack Hernandez shortly after the daughter initiated the assault. Defendant Chris Ostroshkou, the father, can be observed physically assaulting Hernandez several times on video, including violently pushing the reporter to the ground.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged the three defendants with assault and intimidation by force.
