MTG says that Biden and Christopher Wray 'absolutely should be impeached'

Yesterday, Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden. 

In a press release released from her office on May 18, Greene's office published the articles, which allege that Biden has "abused the power of the Office of the President by endangering the security of the United States" in addition to other "high crimes and misdemeanors."

In an interview, Greene said, "Joe Biden absolutely should be impeached, but I gotta tell you... so should Christopher Wray." 

"Wray... is a man that knows exactly what he's doing. And he's using the power of the FBI's director's position to protect and hide the crimes from the American people," she said, referencing present investigations into the Biden family's finances.

The articles of impeachment cover controversies surrounding the Biden presidency and his direction over the southern border.

One section says, "Biden has allowed aliens to enter the United States in violation of the immigration laws, admitted aliens who have tested positive for COVID–19 during the pandemic into the United States, thwarted the will of Congress as set forth in duly enacted law by not completing the southern border wall, and deprived border agents of the sufficient manpower."

Detailing how the administration treated illegal immigrants as compared to American citizens during the Covid-19 pandemic, the press release from Greene's office read, "Biden endangered the lives of Americans by allowing illegal aliens who had tested positive for Covid-19 to enter the country and infect American citizens while requiring Americans be subject to testing before being permitted to return home from traveling abroad."

The articles detail other consequences of the actions taken by Biden on immigration, including such problems as fentanyl overdoses in the US and the ending of the Migrant Protection Protocol. The program returns illegal immigrants over the border of Mexico where they await legal processes to occur. Mexico provides humanitarian aid during this time. 

Greene declared in her press release that "Biden has blatantly violated his constitutional duty, and he is a direct threat to our national security" and is therefore "unfit to serve as President of the United States."

The rate of illegal immigration has remained at record highs as of January 2023, per Pew, and has increased since.
