Music heiress charged with assaulting woman, stealing her Louis Vuitton purse in Tennessee Walmart brawl

A heiress in the music industry was arrested recently after attacking another woman in Walmart with a sock filled with rocks and allegedly stealing the woman's designer purse in Tennessee. 

According to the Daily Mail, 21-year-old Diamond Tankard, who is the granddaughter of the "Godfather of Gospel Jazz" Ben Tankard, was detained by police officers on Friday following the alleged Walmart assault. The incident was seen on video posted to social media. 

She has been charged with theft of property as well as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but has been released on $25,000 bail.

Bystanders attempted to intervene in the confrontation, but it was not clear how it began. Tankard was seen dressed in a pink shirt with camo pants and was seen on video punching the woman on the ground. Tankard was also seen wearing an ankle monitor during the incident. 

At one point, Tankard pulled out a white and red tube sock before hitting the other woman in the face with it. The woman struck by Tankard was left with lacerations on her forehead and above her left eye socket. 

The victim then told officers at the Nashville Metro Police Department that Tankard stole her $900 Louis Vuitton bag as well as her $1,500 iPhone. The woman told police that she was grabbed from behind by Tankard while she was in the check-out line. 

This incident comes after she was charged with attempted first-degree murder last year when she was accused of purposefully striking a woman with her car in November.

At the time, she got into an argument with another woman, and after getting into her car, she turned around and was "accelerating at a high rate of speed before striking the victim who sustained critical injuries," police reported.
