Employees working at a jewelry store in El Monte, California appeared to be seen on camera beating a robber with a stick after he had allegedly attempted a smash-and-grab robbery.

The occurrence took place Saturday around 2:20 p.m. at the Meza's Jewelry store.

The suspect reportedly ditched the scene in a gray Dodge Charger, and has been described as a 6'1" tall man who weighs between 270 and 300 lbs.

“My dad and my brother started hitting him, and then he brings out the pepper spray and started spraying everyone,” the owner reportedly said of the incident. “We’re angry and we’re also worried because when he left he turned to my brother and said he was gonna kill all of us.”

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
