Nancy Pelosi spreads far-left hoax about 'unidentified stormtroopers' on Portland streets

Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to Twitter on Friday to push a conspiracy theory that Trump has deployed unidentified stormtroopers to kidnap and assault protesters and rioters in Portland.

Pelosi tweeted: "Unidentified stormtroopers. Unmarked cars. Kidnapping protesters and causing severe injuries in response to graffiti. These are not the actions of a democratic republic. @DHSgov’s actions in Portland undermine its mission. Trump & his stormtroopers must be stopped."

It is curious to see Pelosi not only falsely accuse law enforcement of kidnapping and assaulting demonstrators, but also suggest that the only crime being committed in Portland is vandalism.

She continued with another tweet shortly after: "First Amendment speech should never be met with one-sided violence from federal agents acting as Trump’s secret police, especially when unidentified. This is disgraceful behavior we would expect from a banana republic — not the government of the United States."

Pelosi has been met with backlash for her inability to substantiate the outrageous claims she is actively sharing with her nearly 5 million followers on one of the largest social media platforms in the world.

Jack Posobiec responded to Pelosi's tweet with a tweet of his own, saying: "Even Nancy Pelosi is now spreading the 'unidentified agents' hoax This is a false conspiracy theory that originated on ultra-left blogs and has been repeatedly debunked."

The Post Millennial's Andy Ngo, who has reported consistently on Antifa and other extremist behavior in the Pacific Northwest, also took Pelosi to task for claiming to know what is going on in a part of the country that she seems to have only heard bout from far-left talking heads.

Ngo tweeted: "Graffiti? How about explosives, hammers, knives, sledgehammers, slingshots w/ metal ball bearings, blinding lasers, pipe bombs and more? You have no clue what is going on here."

There is no doubt that Pelosi is more set on fueling the flames of the US political divide leading up to the November election than admit that Antifa and BLM have enacted horrific crimes since the death of George Floyd.
