Representatives Andy Harris and Colin Allred, a Republican and a Democrat respectively, reportedly almost got into a physical confrontation on Thursday morning on the House floor.

Apparently, the two of them had to be physically separated by a staff member, believed at this time to be the Sargent-at-Arms.

The incident occurred around 2am on early Thursday morning, as the urgent session dragged on into the wee hours due to the rather severe interruption that took place on Wednesday afternoon, according to Fox News.

No one is certain what sparked the confrontation between the two House members, but the whole thing happened while Democratic Rep. Conor Lamb had his turn to speak, and called House Republicans' (future) statements "lies", referring to the movement to stop the election certifications.

At this point, Republicans began to shout over Lamb, and later Democrats started shouting back at them. Soon after that, people were seen getting out of their seats and moving toward each other. No punches were thrown, and order was quickly restored.

Harris is a US Navy veteran and Allred a former NFL linebacker.
