A giant banner featuring former President Donald Trump and the words “Never Surrender” was unfurled by fans during the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium before the Bronx Bombers took on the Seattle Mariners.

The banner featured the "most famous mug shot ever to exist in America," as described by Lara Trump, taken when the former president was indicted on RICO charges in Fulton County, Georgia. Fans in the stands displayed the banner on the first base side just a day before Trump's major rally in the Bronx.

On May 17, the Trump campaign announced, "President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, will visit the Bronx, New York on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 6:00PM EDT to highlight the horrendous effects Crooked Joe Biden's disastrous presidency has had on our economy.”

The event will be held at Crotona Park in South Bronx, New York beginning at 6 pm and follows his record-breaking rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, which drew nearly 100,000 attendees. The rally will be in the district represented by Ritchie Torres. On Saturday, Many supporters of the former president from minority communities were seen rallying in the South Bronx holding a large sign that read “The South Bronx for Donald Trump,” and waving Trump flags, while chanting the presumptive GOP nominee's name.

While in Harlem several weeks ago, Trump spoke about making a "big play" for the Empire State, telling reporters, "We're making a big play for New York. I love this city, and it's gotten so bad in the last three years, four years, and we're going to straighten New York out.” Trump is a lifelong New York and grew up in the borough of Queens.
