Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butter said that he will be supporting Donald Trump in the election cycle, against Kamala Harris, saying that he is the most pro-life option for 2024. Harris is interested in seeing a federal law legalizing abortion across the country enacted.

After Butker endorsed Senator Josh Hawley during an interview with Laura Ingraham, the host asked Butker if he would also be supporting Donald Trump.

Butker responded, “I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life president, I think Donald Trump [is right on the] topic that is the most crucial topic for me,” Butker told Ingraham. “I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize," per Breitbart.

"I think you have to vote for whoever is going to be the most pro-life," Butker added. "And we have to be prayerful men that put God first, and I think that's what's going to be best for our country."

Butker has become a major target of those on the left after he has gone viral multiple times for advocating for the unborn. Left-wing media also turned on him after he gave a commencement speech, advocating for Christian values at Benedictine College, a Catholic liberal arts college in Kansas.

During his speech, he slammed President Joe Biden for supporting abortion while also claiming to be a devout Catholic. "Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the Sign of The Cross during a pro-abortion rally," he stated. "He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I'm sure to many people it appears to many people you can be both Catholic and pro-choice."

He was also targeted for his comments about women in the speech. Butker said that women are told the “most diabolic lies” in their lives surrounding their career as well as their home life.

"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother," he told the women in the audience at the time.

Despite the controversy surrounding his values and speech, Butker has become the highest paid kicker in NFL history.
