“America needs one good bullet to be saved,” Shannon Depararro Atkins wrote online.
According to the New York Post, Shannon Depararro Atkins, 46 and a registered Democrat, made threats online that targeted Trump. Police arrested him on Friday during a traffic stop at around 7:30 pm in West Palm Beach. He was also charged with possession of cocaine.
“America needs one good bullet to be saved,” Atkins allegedly wrote in a Facebook post on January 19, the day before Trump was sworn into office. Atkins has a history of posting support for Democrats on social media, including Kamala Harris in the last election.
He allegedly wrote, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America,” in a caption over a post that Trump’s Inauguration Day was a “Day of Mourning for USA.”

He also posted a picture of Trump with his first late wife first Ivanka Trump, which said, "I hope they get back together soon."
Atkins was detained and held at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Main Detention Center, facing charges for drug possession and one count of making written or electronic threats to kill, cause bodily harm, or commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism, which is a second-degree felony.
The Post reports that Atkins has voted for Democrats since at least 2008. The violent posts come after Trump has been subject to two attempted assassination attempts during the campaign.
