Crockett addressed the possibility in an Instagram post where she said she would make a decision "depending on how many people reach out," but that her main focus has been legislating in the House of Representatives.
The post came after a poll from the National Republican Senatorial Committee was published showing that she was leading the pack of candidates with 35 percent in a hypothetical primary and was leading former Senate candidate Colin Allred, who was at 20 percent, per the Latin Times.
The poll also included high-profile Democrat lawmakers Beto O'Rourke as well as Rep. Joaquin Castro, who tied for third at 13 percent in the poll. The survey was conducted with a margin of error at +/- 3.03 percent and surveyed 566 likely Democrat voters.
"Allegedly it has me topping the field. I have been so busy in the House. That's been my focus. Depending on how many people reach out we'll determine if there's something to actually consider," she said in the video.
"It means collecting a lot of money, traversing a very large state. It means connecting and meeting people where they are in a very short amount of time," Crockett later said in the video, where she addressed a number of topics.
On the Democrat side, Allred has already launched his bid officially in the race. With the Republicans, Texas AG Ken Paxton is challenging incumbent Senator John Cornyn.
