Donald Trump met with the Martin County sheriff's deputies from Florida at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday after the law enforcement from the office was responsible for activating the traffic stop on would-be assassin suspect Ryan Routh and taking him into custody.

Video of the visit between the GOP nominee and the law enforcement office showed Trump walking into the room, telling them they were some "good-looking human beings."

He took the time to shake each deputy's hand, greeting them at the Mar-a-Lago estate. Martin County Sheriff William Snyder along with his deputies spoke to Trump during the short interaction caught on video. After the arrest of Routh on Sunday, Snyder credited the work of his deputies with nabbing the suspect as he was driving on I-95.

According to TC Palm, Snyder told reporters, "We were able to get a hit on that vehicle on I-95 as it was headed into Martin County." He added that when they got the information on the tag number and vehicle description, they sent “every available unit ... out." The officers covered all exits going down I-95 and they were able to spot the car fitting Routh's profile coming down the road.

“One of my road patrol deputies very alertly — even though it was weekend traffic and I-95 — saw the vehicle and called it out," Snyder added. A deputy followed the SUV until a couple of trucks were able to get to the location of the car, and then with trucks' "big front-end bumpers" the police were able to bring Routh to a stop without having to engage in a car chase.

Routh had been waiting to target Trump on the golf course for nearly 12 hours before the would-be assassin took his position around 300-500 yards away from Trump.  When Secret Service (USSS) spotted him pointing the gun through a chain link fence, they engaged the suspect. After firing upon Routh, he fled in his car, but a citizen was able to snap a picture and turn over the information to law enforcement, leading to Routh's arrest.
