NEW: Trump says dismissal of Mar-a-Lago docs case is first step in 'uniting our nation'

"As we move forward in Uniting our Nation after the horrific events on Saturday, this dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step, followed quickly by the dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts."

Following the dismissal of the Mar-a-Lago documents case on Monday morning, Trump called for all the cases against him to be dismissed, calling them "election interference" coordinated by the Department of Justice.

"As we move forward in Uniting our Nation after the horrific events on Saturday, this dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step, followed quickly by the dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts — The January 6th Hoax in Washington, D.C., the Manhattan DA’s Zombie Case, the New York AG Scam, Fake Claims about a woman I never met (a decades old photo in a line with her then husband does not count), and the Georgia 'Perfect' Phone Call charges," Trump wrote.

"The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks, which are an Election Interference conspiracy against Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME. Let us come together to END all Weaponization of our Justice System, and Make America Great Again," he added.

The case was dismissed on Monday morning by Judge Aileen Cannon, who said special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment "violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution," adding that "None of the statutes cited as legal authority for the appointment" gave the "Attorney General broad inferior-officer appointing power or bestows upon him the right to appoint a federal officer with the kind of prosecutorial power wielded by Special Counsel Smith. Nor do the Special Counsel’s strained statutory arguments, appeals to inconsistent history, or reliance on out-of-circuit authority persuade otherwise."

The case’s dismissal also comes after an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Trump was left with a wound to the ear, and one crowd member, a former fire chief, was killed. Two others were injured. Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks was also killed after he opened fire on the rally from a nearby rooftop.
