On Monday, an appeals court in New York quashed Donald Trump's attempt to change the venue of the case filed against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

The case concerns funds paid by the former president to his then-attorney in the lead up to the 2020 election that were allegedly given to porn star Stormy Daniels to prevent her from speaking out about an alleged dalliance the two had.

Judge Lizbeth Gonzalez's handed down her ruling after she heard arguments from both Trump's lawyers and those from the DA's office.

According to the New York Times, had Trump's legal team succeeded in getting Gonzalez to approve a change of venue, the trial would have been put on pause.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
