On Monday, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators descended upon Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station, disrupting two of New York City's busiest transportation hubs.

Those who took part in the massive, hours-long protests carried flags, chanted anti-Israel slogans, and at one point even staged a mass prayer, with use of a loudspeaker in the middle of Moynihan Train Hall.

Things kicked off outside Grand Central, with the crowd shutting down a main thoroughfare in front of the iconic building.

"Long live the intifada!" the crowd cheered, before moving inside.

Footage from within shows demonstrators filling up the main concourse, making a ruckus and chanting, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

Dozens of officers with the New York Police Department can be seen lining the hall, keeping watch to ensure things didn't get out of hand.

Over at Penn Station, meanwhile, things were even more chaotic, with hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators evading police barricades to storm in and wreak chaos while commuters simply tried to get on with their day.

A few pro-Israel counter-protestors were brave enough to venture into the thick of things and try to talk with those essentially calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.

Among them was Elisha Wiesel, the son of Holocaust survivor and celebrated author and activist Eli Wiesel.

"Threw an Israeli flag around myself when I saw a crowd of angry Hamas supporters flood the area," he wrote in a post on X. "They are cowardly and hide behind their masks. NYPD insisted I remove the flag as the situation was getting dangerous. Would not let me counterprotest."

In a video of his altercation with a masked demonstrator, Wiesel is accused of supporting terrorism by wearing the Israeli flag, to which he replies, "That is what you guys are doing."
