In one clip, Abrams said, "But I didn’t lose, I got the votes, but we won’t know exactly how many because of how they cheated."

In another, Abrams said she would never concede, adding in a different clip that "concession means to acknowledge an action is right, true or proper."

"It was not a free and fair election," Abrams said in an interview, and in. another appearance, "I believe it was stolen from the Georgia voters."

The vast remarks made by Abrams echo those made by 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump following the 2020 election, comments that have resulted in the former president being indicted, while Abrams remains off the hook.

In special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment against Trump from early August, the document claimed that Trump knowingly spread false claims that he won the election, and continued to spread them "to make his knowingly false claims appear legitimate, create an intense national atmosphere of mistrust and anger, and erode public faith in the administration of the election."

One of the counts against Trump in the indictment, conspiracy to defraud the United States, alleged that Trump and co-conspirators attempted to defraud the US to overturn the results of the 2020 election "by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to obstruct the federal function by which those results are collected, counted, and certified."

In the latest indictment out of Georgia, Trump has been charged with making false statements and writings, specifically in relation to a statement made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on September 17, 2021: "As stated to you previously, the number of false and/or irregular votes is far greater than needed to change the Georgia election result."

Abrams, an election denier, has said, "if it looks like it’s cheating, it probably is" in relation to the election, as well as "we won’t ever know empirically that I got more votes because we will never know which votes didn’t get counted."
