White House glosses over Biden’s latest gaffes and false claims by saying he was honored to spend 9/11 in Alaska
“What is going on with the President? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen did happen or is he just randomly making stuff up?”
“What is going on with the President? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen did happen or is he just randomly making stuff up?”

Instead of addressing concerns about President Joe Biden's obviously declining mental state, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council John Kirby attempted to divert reporters by giving insight into Biden's attempts to not let 9/11 happen again.
"In the past couple weeks," a reporter asked, "the President has lied about being at ground zero the day after the September 11 attacks, falsely claimed he saw the Pittsburgh bridge collapse, claimed his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth—what is going on with the President? Is he just believing things that didn't happen did happen or is he just randomly making stuff up?"

"The President was deeply touched and honored," Kirby said, "to be able to spend 9/11 with military members there in Alaska, and some families. And was honored by their presence and the chance to make an important set of remarks about why we need to remember that day, and he did that, and he spoke about a visit to ground zero, which he did participate in about a week or so after the event. And what looked and what that smelled like. And it had a visceral impact on him as it did on so many other Americans on that terrible day. And he's focused on making sure an attack like that never happens again."
But Kirby did not address why Biden alleged he had been in New York the day after the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, when he had been on the Senate floor speaking about those attacks. Nor did he speculate as to why Biden said he'd personally witnessed a bridge collapse in Pittsburgh in 2022, when he wasn't there until after it happened to deliver pre-planned remarks. He also didn't address Biden's claim that he was in the same Baltimore hospital where his grandfather had died two weeks prior. Biden was born more than a year after his grandfather died, and in Scranton, Pennsylvania, not Baltimore, Maryland.
In discussing remarks Biden made in Alaska, Kirby did not note that Biden was on his way back from Asia and stopped in Alaska to refuel Air Force One before traveling back across the US to Washington, DC.
Much has been made about Biden's alleged cognitive decline since he took office. The octogenarian has faltered over his words, stumbled up the stairs, across stages, and repeated the same false stories more times than anyone's Alzheimer-suffering grandpa at the last family reunion. Yet pundits and media continue to say that Biden has no issues. Still, others declare that it's time for him to take a cognitive test.
