ABC News heavily edited an interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, in which he made claims about the safety of vaccines. Kennedy is an environmental lawyer and an outspoken critic of mandatory vaccinations who is running for president as a Democrat in 2024.
Following a tense interview segment, a disclaimer was aired stating “We should note that during our conversation, Kennedy made false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines,” ABC News Live anchor Linsey Davis said. “We’ve used our editorial judgment in not including portions of that exchange in our interview.”

Research shows that vaccines and the ingredients used in the vaccines do not cause autism, including multiple studies involving more than a million children and major medical associations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the advocacy group Autism Speaks.”
A Fox News poll found that 19 percent of likely Democratic voters would like to see Kennedy win the nomination.
Kennedy made headlines in 2021 with the release of his book, The Real Anthony Fauci, which made several controversial claims. Kennedy accused Dr. Fauci of aiding in "a historic coup d'etat against Western democracy." He became an advocate for alternative treatments to COVID-19, including the use of ivermectin.
