All-American made ‘BlueChip’ laptop set to launch in 2027 from Anduril, Qualcomm Technologies
The companies said that they will start taking orders for the laptops in 2027.

Anduril and Qualcomm have decided to partner on a new line of laptops called BlueChip that will launch in 2027. The venture is aimed at producing the laptops completely in the US.
Usually, the supply chain for laptops involves China, Taiwan, and other countries before they are finished and bought at US stores. However, the companies have said that the BlueChip laptops will be "designed and assembled in the United States."

View on X"BlueChip will develop American-built computing hardware for America’s most critical industries—including government, defense, first responders, and public safety—and rebuild the suppliers, manufacturing processes, and expertise needed to produce these systems at scale," a press release from the two firms said. Anduril, which specializes more in hardware, will work to "rebuild domestic computer manufacturing," while Qualcomm will "supply its Snapdragon X Series, providing the laptop’s core computing capabilities, including general-purpose processing, graphics, and on-device AI."
The companies said that they will start taking orders for the laptops in 2027 and that they have sourced 90 percent of all materials for prototypes. Concerning their supply chain to develop the laptops, the companies said, "Anduril is developing domestic production capabilities for enclosures, battery components, and other hardware while qualifying suppliers and preparing for production."
Currently, the manufacturing of computer materials in the US is difficult for specific parts, such as "circuit boards, displays, batteries, and other components," the companies said. To integrate production to be US-based only, Anduril and Qualcomm "will take a phased approach, beginning with expanding domestic sourcing and manufacturing, progressing toward eliminating reliance on foreign suppliers, and ultimately establishing an end-to-end American supply chain."
The announcement comes after there has been a push from the Trump administration to bring manufacturing of key products to the US, as well as efforts to establish supply chains for critical minerals that are vital to the development of defense technology and AI.
